GCSE to become SocialWorker

My Daughter is about to decide on what GCSE's to take.
She would like to do something like Social Worker/Counseller..... in that sort of area. But what best starting qualifications would benefit her.

Any suggestions would be very helpful

She was thinking of Health & Care, sociology, Geography and child development aswell as the compulsory subjects

i think in the grand scheme of things gcse's are relatively unimportant ( i dont mean getting them is unimportant, just which subjects are unimportant) as long as you are doing maths and english and get good passes in other subjects, a levels and degree courses tend to be unspecific as to what gcse's they want. Except of course if they were all "soft" subjects ie music/drama/technology etc. I think its just more important to have a mix. Having said that, i feel really old! ive never heard of health and care as a gcse subject

The entry requirements for a degree in social work usually consist of five GCSEs (A-C)/S grades (1-3) including English and maths, plus two A levels/three H grades (law, sociology, and psychology will be particularly useful). An Access to Higher Education qualification may also be accepted for entry to certain courses.
