Giving stars

How do I do this? I see a few posts that I would love to give a star to some answers and I don't know how to do it.

When you look at this answer it will give you the option...report answer or rate answer. click on rate answer the star option is there. award how many stars and click submit.

Hi, you can only rate the answers to questions that you have asked though.

All I can see is report a question but I don't see rate an answer within the list . It's a shame if I can only rate answers to questions that I have answered as I don't answer many but I read most on all the topics here and some (even if I don't contribute to) I would love to rate with a star or two.

lol...Hi again....to clarify...on the left hand side of the post you will have two options....one to report an answer, one to rate it....as the poster of this Q this option is only available to you.....you can give me some stars if you want.....lol
