cross collie/golden retriever

Does anybody know where i may be able to obtain cross collie/golden retriever pups. They are very similar to flat coated retrievers. It took me years and a lot of patience to find the one iv'e got

Its is not strictly true to say they are all like flat coated retrievers. I have known some that took after one or other of the parents so you never really know what you are going to get.

Why not get one of the breeds you mention, instead of encouraging people to breed more crossbreeds?

there is a web site that sells cross retriver pups a friend she just bought a Pyrenees mountain dog crossed with a Golden retriever. He is a gorgeous dog.

But Anyhoo if you search for a site called Epupz you might just find one there. hope that is some help.

I am sure that any of the large rescue centres have loads!

I would not pay hundreds of pounds for a cross breed.

IF you do decide to buy one, make sure that the parents are hip scored etc. Just because they are cross breeds does not mean they cannot get hereditary conditions.

If you are looking for a good temperament then you are probably better off going to a rescue centre and getting a young dog rather than a pup - it will have already developed its character. As lankeela says a pup can take after one or other of the parents so you never really know what you are getting until it is older.

Or if you like flat coated retrievers why not go for one of those?
