I am 56 years old and have gone throught the menopause (or at least I thought I had!) Yesterday I started a period, I haven't had one for over three years! Is this normal or should I be worried?

It lasted for 5 days then nothing for another year just 2 perfectly shaped spot's but nothing since except the flush's,dryness, loss of libido but that came back about 18 months ago. Im 58 now and still get the odd flush. I take black coshosh for that btw. It's normal to have a period during the meno but if it's worrying you see your gp. Daisy.
I rang NHS direct and they advised me to go to the doctors. I made an emergency appointment on Tuesday and the doctors says they like to investigate if it's been over two years since the last period. I am waiting for an emergency appointment to go to the hospital. I will keep you informed. Thanks to all.
