I have an oldish DVD player, but it won't play DVD+Rs. Will I have to buy another machine that's compatiable with this more modern technology? It's really frustrating!

Just to let you know that you are not alone in your frustration. I recently recorded some sport on a DVD RAM disc but my friends couldn't get it to play. After some investigation I found that if their machines don't cater for RAM discs then it won't show what is recorded.
And there was I thinking that modern technology was supposed to make life easier.
