Sex of the baby, straw poll
Very simply. Do you want to know?
I think I do but my mother in-law doesn't. In case you're wondering about hubby; he's working abroad at the moment & we haven't properly discussed the issue. Wouldn't do anything without his full support.

We squabbled over girls names instead of both boys AND girls.
I personally believe that it doesn't distract from the 'surprise' element when they arrived- you're still gobsmacked and in awe of the little bundle.

I agree with BOO ~ I found out the sex of my first baby, didn't with the second, did with the third, and didn't with the fourth (although I instinctively knew what she was;o) and that 'surprise' element was unaffected.
I was still in total awe of the fact that this baby had come out of me..and even though I knew the sex of the baby there was always the 'is it really a girl'? surprise factor after the event!
Each to their own ~ but I agree that mother in law shouldn't be involved in the decision.
