Matlock Route

I'm now running out of ideas for last half dozen or so.
Can anyone help with the following 4 please:
1 Take a piece of ground and a shortened coat and mix. (in the Matlock area)(could it be Matlock, if so, how?)
2 Break pub in Shakespeare land (in Stratford-u-Avon area)
3 Take departure and an air attack and re-arrange (in Coventry area)
4 Left over, mix slightly to ring, mix a negative (in Cotswolds)
Any pointers in the right directio so to speak would be greatly appreciated.

Not my neck of the woods, but 4 could end in anagram of "a minus" = sanium or nasium, which sound vaguely Roman.

I think 1 is Duffield just north of Derby on A6 before Matlock
Duf short for Duffel + field piece of ground

3. exit + raid ( not a place but a form of transport!!)
