Hi everyone - just wondered if anyone else had discovered some new favourite bands/singers through adverts? For example, I had never even heard of Soul Coughing before the Ford Transit advert buthaving done some investagations and listening to other stuff of theirs I've found I really like them! Anyone else?

For anyone who likes the cover version of Another Girl, Another Planet on the current Vodaphone ad, I can recommend the band that performs it - Irish band Bell X1. They don't normally do covers, and used to be four-fifths of a band called Juniper. The other fifth was the much better known Damien Rice, but while he's gone on to a profitable, if rather dull, solo career, his former bandmates have stayed far more interesting and consequently less successful. I think their albums Music In Mouth and Flock are both very good.

I also really liked Everywhere by The Empire Dogs, from the Piriton ad a while back, but found the rest of their album disappointing.
