I got a cheap camera, for my holidays, but when I changed the 'media' setting to 'external' (the internal is only 16MBs) I got a 'No Card' alert. It's been suggested that the cards that I tried, SD 512MBs and MMC 1GB, were too large. I didn't think it made any difference. I just thought that the bigger the card, the more pictures, videos, etc, you got, regardless of the camera. Am I wrong? Help!

It can make a difference - have a look in the manual and see if it recomends the max size of card to use. It seems daft but technology can be just a bit too advanced !

The manual isn't clear, to me, anyway.
Memory Device gives: Internal 16MB DDR, 16MB flash RAM External SD/MMC (1G). Is that 1GB?
Memory Capacity gives: External SD Card 64MB. Note that there's no mention of the MMC.
64MB is a very small capacity for the things that the camera is supposed to do.
It's a DV/DC/Card Reader/MP3 recorder, etc, etc).
