Reading books!

Sorry, know my answer is glib, but sitting with daddy ( I presume your male?) and using their finger to point out pictures in a book is not only the best educational toy going, but also a brilliant bonding experience.
I have found that with all my nephews, we do Pat-a-cake and other nursery rhymes ALL the time. Its an amazing thing to watch the progression over the months - with pat-a-cake, we always do the actions, and as they grow they start doing the clapping and then as they get more co-ordinated, they do the rolling of the arms. Once they start talking, leave a blank in the rhyme so they fill it in , bit by bit they then know the whole rhyme. An adventure all the way through. Also, ALL nursery rhymes start with "One, Two, Three" then start, you can see the anticipation in their faces is great, and at some point they mimic so they learn to count too.
