Why are we here ...
9 Answers
At this time of year again, with everyone moaning about the early shop displays, crowds, lack of inspiration, too many people to buy for, Christmas dinner ..... and so on ...
WHY?
Why do we do this to ourselves every year?
The spirit and meaning of Christmas has been graduallly turned totally on its head until its now some ghastly death-dance everyone plays along with, no-one really enjoys, and everyone is glad it's over.
Can't we as a culture, simply agree to get off this merrygoround and just not do this anymore?
Thoughts?

I love Christmas-as far as I'm concerned there's no feeling like it when you see your kids faces on Christmas morning. It really shouldn't be about the money either- it's what you make of it. i never spend a fortune on presents (Can't afford to, as well as not wanting to), but everyone has a great day.
I also love the fact that family that you may not see much the rest of the year get together as well.

andy i agree mate- nice work my friend.
christmas- crappy pointless bits of card with "happy christmas" written in them, sent by people i dont even bother to keep in touch with or care about but these idiots dont seem to get the message.
by the way i think these items are called "cards" but cant be sure.
plus, christmas dinner, thick parents who get themselves into massive debt to "make it special for the kids"
i could continue, but i kind of started a question similar to this myself so dont want to overstep myself.................see recent questions. adios.

When I was a kid, Christmas preparations rarely started until early December, and consequently the magic of it remained concentrated for a much shorter time. Now the commercial element has taken over and destroyed the whole spirit of Christmas.
I boycott everything relating to Christmas until December and if everybody else did the same, maybe the shops would get the message
Christmas decorations in the stores in September?? Honestly, I ask you !!
