Just in case its relevant (you could be in the TA for instance) I would point out that there are exceptions to the answers you have.
The age restrictions do not apply if subject to the orders of a member of the armed forces of the crown or if you are a member of the armed forces AND on Duty and required to drive - age becomes 17 in all of these circumstances
