I have 2 popup blockers working at the moment-including the google toolbar one.Between them they block almost everything but I still get those very iritating 'floating' ads that drift across the screen and stay just in the eyeline. They are mostly on media sites-newspapers/tv channels . Is there a name for these specifically? Any idea how to block them? Im on ie7 - new laptop and dont want to put firefox on as -excellent though it is for this sort of thing - its so very heavy on memory ( Ive found).
I also run adaware and beside ie cookies theres nothing to report.

What was the last version of firefox you tried? Have you tried firefox 2, the one out now that was released about 6 weeks ago? If not, download and try it. They worked quite hard making it use less memory than Firefox 1.x did.

What I think you're describing are flash ads. Firefox can block these with extensions easily, but I'm not sure if there's a similar system for IE7.
