My Sony RDR-HX525 makes loud noises all the time, like beeps and clicking noises which go on through the night and actually wake me up they are that loud. Is this normal? This happens when it is in 'power off' mode as well as switched on. The only way to stop them is to unplug it at the wall which surely shouldn't be necessary should it?

Could be updating the Programme Guide. My HXD860 does it more quietly at 4am each morning.

I've got a Sony, and it also makes continous whirring and clicking noises when switched on... stops on standby though.
