roof tiles for working hearth

hi,I like the look of roof tiles and wondered if anyone
knew if I could tile a back hearth to use a fire basket on,would this be practical and safe?

I don't think roof tiles are fire resistant. I had a pile next to a bonfire and they all cracked.

thankyou johnk,i have since learned roof tiles are no good,so im going to use thick slate instead.cheers
