size zero models furore

Are we talking a US size zero here (UK 4) or a UK size zero?

I just can't believe that any adult could be a UK size zero. Let alone a UK size 4.

Hi there drchasuble,
I used to be a size 0, in fact for many many years. My mum was only 7 stone herself as was my grandmother and we are/were all 5ft4.
We all eat/ate real food!!! and no, nothing wrong with thyroid etc... I used to find getting clothes a bit of a pain but I am now 71/2-8st st and find size english 8 so much easier.
The reason for my weight gain was through medication so I am rather grateful for that.
Never had any problems meeting guys either.
Oh, and I am and have always been highly fertile, so no!!! I dont buy the infertile bit of body size either.
Infertility affects all shapes I'm sure.
So, here's to the female form!!! long may we live!!!

It's that wide-hipped = easier childbirth theory, beryllium...not always so of course. I know a woman who has gloriously rounded hips but has to have C Sections to deliver her babies because she has a small 'male like' pelvis!

I guess it's just that most men like a woman to go 'in and out' in all the right places..and petite women don't often have that. I do find this androgyny quite off putting (a la posh) big gazongas and no hips...

Just out of interest how old were you when you were this size? And if it's not too rude to ask what ethnic origin are you?
It's just that I have a taiwanese friend and she is teeny but about 5'5" too and eats like a horse.

I am now 39 and for as long as I can remember I've been small... I'm white British/Swedish btw. I'm sure it's in the genes in this family. :-)

I was just wondering as different nationalities can be very different physically.

In my late teens and early twenties I was too thin for my height, this was down to smoking far too many Camels and not eating much food. Not once did a guy ever compliment me on my body. I stopped smoking and stopped worrying and all subsequent boyfriends have said I have a nice figure.
I love good food and cooking and if someone's going to take me out and pay for dinner there's no way I'm just going to have a salad!
