I just watched a tv programme about mediation betwen neighbours at war.The 'mediator'- with grey hair and a plummy voice who had 'hostage negotiation' credentials was obviously failing at the task.just like victoria silvest works with dogs, they expect 'us' common people to heel just the same? what a pile of ****! the guy was a public-educated **** with no real credentials, no emotional experience to embark on this.I for one, am fed up with the terrestrial tv channels, they insult my intelligence and form now on i'm sticking with SKY and Malcolm in the middle and American Dad!

I watched it too - he was useless!

What he had was twol lots of chippy immature adults with too much time on their hands being overly bothered about the actions of their neighbours.

The colonel had no idea how to open negotiations, much less continue and conclude them, and it was patently obvious that the situation will only be resolved by one family moving - my money is on the 'tidy' couple, since the woman obviously feels isolated, and said so at the end of the programme.

If this is an ecample of how the U.N. conducts negotiations with warring factions around the world, talking to men with swarthy skinds and machismo to burn like an earnest vicar with nothing but love for everyone, then it's ltittle wonder that the U.N. spends most of the time with a metaphorical, and sometimes literal, AK47 rammed up its fundament!

Exactly! this is an example of a 'negotiator'?? what patronising claptrap!!and to think these eejits making these tv programmes get money to pay for this? its not often i get worked up about tv programmes but this really was taking it to extremes!
