Hi, can i find out if some one has died if I have their full name and address? And knowing what a helpful bunch you are....a few details...this person is my step father and lives in Jaywick, Clacton in Essex.

It won't give address but will give full name and age at death and date of birth so if you know the date of birth, you can cross check. If it is a common name though there are likely to be lots.

The General Register Office website indicates that the nearest register office is in Colchester. Unfortunately, the link to get the details (from the Essex County Council website) isn't working at the moment. That might just be because their server is down for maintenance overnight. You might have better luck:

However, my copy of the Colchester Yellow Pages (which is about 3 years old) states that there's an office in Clacton, so it might be worth trying this number: 01255 421178.
The Colchester office number is shown as 01206 572926 or 01206 574900.
