This is my first time here so I so not know if my question was accepted. Sorry if I am repeating myself but does anyone know of any agencies in the Bedford area who want hand-knitting done from home (paid of course) as I have recently changed my job and have more time but have lost my previous contacts. Ta!

There are not so many about as there used to be and most of the firms that want out workers are based in Scotland and want the traditional Arans etc.I used to do out work arans years ago but most of the firms have disappeared.The only thing I can suggest is that you contact the British Knitting Guild .

who may be able to point you in the right direction. Failing that if you want to make a couple of bob ..hand knitted items especially childrens jumpers etc sell well on Ebay.

You might also try looking in the telephone directory for local craft shops and see if any of them would be interested in taking hand knitting commissions.
Also try putting an advert in the local newagent's window. Some supermarkets also have Customer Bulletin Boards where you can stick up a postcard advertising your services.
