On my way to work this morning, a warning light came on in my car.  I can't identify it because my manual has been stolen from my car.  I have a R-reg Vauxhall Corsa and the light is yellow and looks a bit like a tap with a zig zag in the middle of it.  Please help!

sounds like the EMS (Engine managment system) I would take it to a Vauxhall dealer ASAP.
Does it come on and off intermittently? My daughter had an L reg Corsa which did this. Apparently nothing to worry about it just the EMS checking everything. Not sure what it means if it stays on permanently.

The light should come on when the ignition is switched on.  It will 'self-test' the management system and go off when all is ok.  It may go off before you start the engine or after, it depends how quick you are with the key.  If it doesn not go off after a few seconds then you do need to take it to Vauxhall.  If it comes on whilst driving it is indicating a fault and you need to go and see Vauxhall.

Good luck.

The EMS light will come on when there is a fault in the emission control system, caused by the permitted emission values being exceeded. Try and keep the revs low for a while and if still persists could case damage to your catalytic converter if your car has one. Hope this helps a little.
