I have been using it for a few weeks and found the tabbed browsing great (I know Firefox has had it for a while).
MS have moved the various options around so it is sometimes hard to find where they have hidden something (took me ages to find the option Find on Page)
If you are concerned about security it does have phishing security. This is where it warns you that a site you are visiting may be a bit dodgy (a fake bank or paypal site, or a known site with viruses).
A couple of times it has not shown a site for me, and I have no idea why, but apart from that it seems OK.
Note that you dont HAVE to use IE7, even if you install it.
You can download Firefox which is another free browser that many in-the-know prefer over IE, and it has less security issues.

I installed IE7 and had such a lot of problems, so I uninstalled and found to my amazement I had IE6 back but with tabbed browsing, everything exactly the same but the bonus of tabbed browsing, it's great. Also i think you get so used to a browser and when it changes you get frustrated and confused because everything is changed, buttons hidden or in different places or you can't find them at all, it's time consuming, so Iam happy for now.
One extra reason for sticking with IE7.
The web is writen in a lanuage called HTML. A new language is also being added alongside HTML called CSS.
Most up-to-date websites use a combination of HTML and CSS.
Now IE6 did not always follow the HTML and CSS rules.
But with IE7 Microsoft have added a lot of extra support for HTML and particularly CSS.
So IE7 will be far better at viewing modern sites than IE6 was.
(It could be argued that the best support for HTML and CSS is from Firefox, which is why many people use it and its user base is growing).
