What can I do in the summer holidays?

I am a teacher and trying to think of how to spend the summer holidays to make the time worthwhile. I am free and single, and don't want to spend a huge amount of money.

Volunteer ?

As a teacher I am sure there are loads of organizations who would be happy to have you as a volunteer.

Maybe ask your teaching union or other teaching organizations if they have any ideas.

Make money! Go to work in a summer camp. you don't have to worry about knowing any outdoor activities because a lot of places that require you to work abroad (and some in this country) employ "village leaders". basically people who look after groups of visitors (school children or familys) and as a teacher you'll be top of their list for people to employ. the pay ain't great and conditions could be better but it's an experience you'll never forget and you'll make loads of great friends.
