Snow - lacking wintery weather

Where has the snow gone? :( I remember bout 10 years ago we had easily 2 or 3 inches of snow in most parts of the UK. Climate change is rapidly changing. Does anyone have snow by them if so how deep is it? cheers

Did you have snow 11 or 12 years ago? Snow can happen at anytime during winter at the start, middle or end or it can be mild I dont thinl climate change is anythhing to do with it

I'm 47, live in mountainous North Wales and I can never remember snow at Christmas, but late Jan and Feb even March April is when we normally get snow. I hear that the long range forcast is for record snow in the new year - stock up on thermals!!

About 16 years ago we got snowed in at the in-laws at the beginning of December. This year we just made it to Yorkshire before the snow got too thick - at the beginning of March. As the above posts have said, snow can happen at any time of winter (or even spring). It's not like, ooh it's the 16th December it's going to snow today!

Here in the Southern part of the USA we don't get a lot of snow - but it used to be pretty cold this time of year - today it is 65 F - I could go outside in my summer clothes and be VERY comfortable.

I often wonder about this, did it really snow so much when we were children or do I just have a dream of a perfect Christmas?
Maybe we did get 2 - 3 inches of snow but with being so little and not having a care in the world, maybe the day of crisp white snow seemed to last forever when the reality is, the following day brought a big pile o' slush!

I can't think of a date/year that had a significant amount of snow but I remember several days of playing in it.
I guess I've just managed to somehow remember all the days of snowball fights over the years and merged them into one event.

Hi majjan,

I can see snow out of my front window right now, I am on Anglesey, I would estimate it is only a few centimetres thick though.

It's on the top of Snowdon, second lot this year.
