'28 Days Later' - spoiler included
10 Answers
I watched and enjoyed the film a few days ago. A couple of things puzzled me - where were all the cars, apart from the jam in the Blackwall Tunnel, and where were all the animals, no cats, no dogs, just a couple of horses, and a few rats? Am I being picky, or were these glaringly obvious errors for the sake of easy filming?

Perhaps the theory is that there were no animals cos within the 28 days that the bloke had been in his coma and all the mayhem had occured most of the animals had been killed by the rampaging humans or died from starvation (that would only really account for domestic animals). The rest presumably legged it through fright.
Alternatively, the makers just didn't think.
but surely their wudnt of been many cars about coz a loada ppl wud of stayed at home?! maybe i dunno! another prob with ths film is tht they say tht before the radios went down, there were reports of outbreaks in america and france, but then they say the virus is contained with in the uk?! or mebbe they were false reports or something?
London had been evacuated as it says on the news paper jim reads at the start so the cars were probably at reffugee camps and army block-ades but i think if that happend in real life witch i really doubt there would be hundreds of smashed cars.and some people left by ferry in the first days mabay that explains it and animals can also get infected mabay thats what happend to the dogs and cats.
