i cannot see a category on AB that would cover collectibles. isn't it about time we had one?

Wouldn't Hobbies & Interests cover collectibles, which is under Society & Culture?

i think collectibles are a tad more serious, and specialised, than hobbies and interests.

We're trying to persuade ABEd to reduce the number of categories, not increase them!

If a "Collectibles" category was introduced, people would ask for separate headings for "Antiques" or "Philately" etc. Where would it end?

I agree with BOO; surely collectibles are catered for adequately by "Hobbies & Interests".

i doubt there are many antiques experts on here so it would be useless for anyone needing it for serious information - surely a specialised, serious site aimed specifically at that would be a better place to look?

also there are no pics on here, which of course is important for this kind of thing, if you want good responses

I don't think we need yet another category. I haven't been on AB for ages (work dammit has kept me busy - bosses can be so mean when they expect you actually work when you are at work), and I can't get used to the new sections. Especially film and TV - why under media????

Surely if the subject is specialised there would be specialised web pages that collectors could visit? I can't see as it would be used very often - I have been using AB regularly for two years (up until about a month ago) and can't remember seeing any questions on colectibles.
