Why is my Worcester Bosch boiler making a funny noise?
5 Answers
After a bout of bad weather, our WB boiler has suddenly started making a horrible noise and the water pressure keeps going up. We are trying to get someone to come and look at it. In the meantime, anyone got any ideas what's causing (not sure if it's safe to use!)
Thanks!

The only thing I can think of, which would increase the the pressure of your hot water, is steam within the tank. This could only be present if the water is boiling. This suggests that the thermostat has failed, resulting in the water constantly being heated.
As I've stated, I'm not an expert, but I think that the continuing build-up of pressure inside the boiler could lead to a serious risk of explosion. (The horrible noise you're hearing could be related to the boiler vibrating as it's put under stress by the build-up of stream). Please turn it off!
