I would genuinely like to know how much parents are spending on their teenagers (particularly daughters) this year. I've been buying presents throughout the year and hiding them. However, now I've started to wrap them up, I realise I've spent ridiculous amounts of money (x 2 because I have 2 daughters). I'm seriously going to write a list for next year so that I can set a budget and stick to it!
We used to do that when our girls were younger but now I write a list and stick to it. I was buying things and putting them away, forgetting I had bought them and they ended up with far too much. We now decide on an amount we are going to spend and roughly keep to it.
My daughter (14) was really difficult to buy for this year, but after some very good advice from people on this site i roughly have spent about 60 on small presents andshe will get 50 cash, also when friends/family have asked whatto get her i just said a voucher would be ideal?
I want to recommend curlyperm for her answer. Most people are spending an excessive amount. I love Christmas when it is at its simplest.
Happy Christmas all.
