Strangest place you have had a Christmas party

There is a play area near me for children that dog owners use to walk their dogs. It is basically now all lawn with a footpath border and a small area that has swings and a slide. It is actually an old cemetary. The graves remain and have been grassed over, the tombstones line the four walls of the play area. Its a dog walkers paradise and all those walking dogs have got to know each other well and we all chat while the dogs all run about. Today I took a thermos of hot mulled wine and some mugs and met 4 fellow dog walkers....so I guess in a cemetary I had a Christmas party this afternoon. Anyone else celebrated Christmas in strange surroundings?

Oi Crete, not so much of the old.....if it was you who was out walking a loo brush then you should have joined up (see you at 8.30am tomorrow as Rod is bringing hot mince pies) Boo, I have got to know the dog walkers as we tend to walk the dogs all about the same time so it was easy for me to take drinks with me as I knew I'd meet one of the locals (walkers, not the buried residents)

We did exactly the same 3 years ago zimzam. A group of doggie walkers all wrapped up nice and warm sat on 2 benches drinking mulled wine with mince pies. We only stayed for about 2 hours but it was nice to share a Xmas drink with our dog walking friends.

Inpromptu parties are fun aren't they Daisy? I never gave mince pies a thought (shame on me) I took the dog there late yesterday and was given a minature bottle of brandy from one of the dog walkers. I dare say another party will happen there before Christmas day.

Improptu get together's are the best zimzam. No mince pies? Hang your head in shame..lol. A mini brandy eh? Keep on going,you'll have a crateful by Xmas:-)) A merry Xmas to you!
