This crazy "king" started a new musical movement and has been credited as a lasting influence on many musicians at the turn of the 20 th century. Do you know who that could be? Thanks!

The only two kings I know in music are Elvis Presley and King Oliver a jazz trumpeter. Not sure what they mean by crazy.

King Oliver was a major figure in early Jazz but does he still have an influence?
Please don't let it be Jonathan King!
How about Lonnie Donagan? He must surely have been the king of skiffle?

It should be somebody from the turn of 20th century so I sont think that Elvis and Jonathan King qualify. Thanks anyway!
How about King Adora? They were said to have influences/influenced the Pixies and many bands on from that so perhaps they are what you're after.
Scott Joplin was known as the "king of ragtime", and was at his most prolific during the early part of the 20th century. Not sure if that fits in with your question though.
