help with L6

i have been given a motorola L6 for my birthday. Myself and 4 friends have tried to find how to send a text message. the book it came with seems to refer to the L7 that my husband has. Anyone out there got one of these phones?? thanks in advance.

what exactly are you stuck on.

the little line above the circlular disk on the key pad is your menu button press this to access the main menu.

Then go into messages, then new message and then new short message then your in, press the bottom right button (# key) to change the typing style.

what else do you need to know?????

i dont have the new message - new short message option in messages. only an in box thats whats been confusing us. the L7 has it but not my L6.

thanks for your answer what...the i went back to carphone warehouse last nite and it was a problem with the sim card. it had to be updated from orange. it only took a few mins and i am now up and running. happy texting.
