cold starting astravan

i have an m reg astravan 1.7td merit and have a problem with cold morning starting it takes about 7 trys and the glow plugs take a long time to go out.is this the problem if it is how do you change them.cheers any help would be great.

Take them out and check them by putting 12 volts thru them - they are small heating elements and should quickly glow bright red. One or two of them may have failed and that would give you starting problems.
