What tax deductable expenses can I submit on my tax form, as a school teacher?

The principal ones for teachers (which are automatically accepted) are 'professional memberships'. When I was teaching, I successfully claimed my union membership fees (P.A.T.), and my membership fees for the Mathematical Association, the Association of Teachers of Mathematics, the Institute of Mathematics & its Applications and the College of Preceptors. However, my claims for such things as 'essential replacements of tools of my trade' (e.g. a new scientific calculator) were always ignored.

Its worth a go but, as Chris says, you probably won't get far. The trouble with the above good ideas is that the products can also be used for non-work, and the products/ervices have to be solely possible to use for work - hence clothing very typically has to be emblazoned Burton Grammar School or whatever to be allowed.
