How long are you staying?

MyTravel offer a departure on 4th April, returning on 18th April for 474. (Direct flight from Manchester).

BMI's scheduled flights offer greater flexibility and, at first sight, appear cheaper. For example, using the same combination of dates, they quote just 407 (connecting at Chicago). However, that actually turns out to be a total fare of 550.80 by the time you've added on all of the extras:

thanks for the help chris, were going for 5 nights
try and get a direct flight, I once changed flights in Chicago bound for Memphis and it was horrendous, first all your luggage had to come with you from the carousel and go through customs and then u had to take elsewhere and check it in again for the internal flight and then we had to change terminals on a small train, we caught the connecting flight by the skin of our teeth, and the reverse journey wasnt much better but they did transfer the luggage.
In VEGAS last time I was talking to a youg couple who had last minute tickets on BMI for 99 pounds each, but she did work in a travel agents. Its worth a litle extra for a direct flight.
Just get there its amazing.
I don't think that you'll be able to get a suitable direct flight from Manchester to LasVegas.

The Manchester Airport website lists only BMI (scheduled) and MyTravel (charter) flights on this route. The MyTravel flights are only weekly, so they're no use for a 5 night stay. The BMI website states that they fly direct to Las Vegas on Tuesdays (summer schedule only), Thursdays and Sundays but this information seems to be out of date. Searching for flights on these days only brings up the connecting service, via Chicago.

If it has to be Manchester that you fly from, the American Airlines flights, connecting at Chicago, offered by eBookers do seem to be the best offers available. (I've checked American Airlines own site and can't find anything cheaper). eBookers are currently offering a fare of 467, departing on the 4th and returning on the 9th. Travel around the Easter weekend period is usually expensive on most routes. Some full-fare airlines are currently quoting flexible economy fares of around 3000 for Manchester to Las Vegas (via Chicago) around that time, so anything under 1000 should be regarded as a bargain. A fare of less than 500 should definitely be grabbed as soon as possible!

By the way, I've spent quite a bit of time researching whether its possible to fly, from Manchester, to a different US airport and then transfer to a budget carrier within the USA. I still can't find any cheaper fares.

I've also checked US aIrways deals. The cheapest I can find is 484.80 (through Opodo. Out 4th, back 9th, 1change of aircraft).

Thanks very much for your help, i think the best deal is the 467 with ebookers. So i think Il go 4 that one. Id love to go direct but it seems very akward from manchester.

As usual great help from the answerbankers! Thanks.
Tom.
Why not fly to LAX and rent a car and drive into Vegas. It's quite a drive (about 200 miles), but very enjoyable and an amazing way to enter LV, especially at dusk. The car rental would be cheap - could be one way, and flights to LAX have more competition and should be found for under 300
