Does the ED only choose to remove or edit material if Aber's complain about it or can she automatically remove it if it is deemed to be offensive to other Aber's?
If she has carte blanche then why does she let one Aber consistantly post offensive questions and answers?

However, if one person offends then surely it is up to the members to report that person? I don't mean all gang up on a particular name - I mean report that person and I am sure then the posts will vanish. I'm still quite new and finding my way around the ABers and I learn by reading posts and replies but I have not seen (as a newbie) any one person seemingly getting away with it. So if you older long standing members here are seeing something thats a bit off then I can assure you that I don't think the newer members are noticing anything. For the record the ones I find who think they are God/Goddess are newbies and their posts vanish quite quickly but if you older members are keeping tabs on some then you are all making AB a safer place and keeping watch so I thank you guys and maybe the new ED will take heed? She's new and has to feel her feet and learn the AB politics but I do feel she has set rules for all - give her time to learn about the odd strange members with their -quote absolute power comparable to Bush -unquote and she may well boot them off. Ed is new and I doubt is reading back through any one members posts so has to rely on complaints to action anything. This is my impression. Those that know who you refer to I would suggest that you emailed Ed and put her wise. If she is aware she'd check a member out and do whatever was necessary. meanwhile - thank you for keeping tabs on some - newbies appreciate it very much.
Hiya zimzam, Yes many Abr's know each other via MSN. Nothing wrong in that but, certain subject's i-e racial, sexually explicit spilled over into B+S section, not to mention the abuse from the newer Ab'rs. The previous Ed did nothing at all to stop this so things just got worse. Abr's asked for a chatsite, they were given Chatterbank but due to much arguing and abuse between them Chatterbank was closed down. Speaking for myself here, I think our new Ed has done a great job at cleaning up B+S simply by taking on board our complaint's re the above. Even now, drivel such as " Im getting the drinks in,who wants what" is seemingly still allowed. Still, as long as it's kept clean and the genuine post's are'nt ignored. I keep my drivel for Yahoo Chat:-))
the problem is what some people may find offensive or plain stupid, others will think funny, or amusing, as a young lady in her fifties, if i find a particular question or answer plainly rude, i just choose ignore, its just not for me, not that i post i just like to read, my grandson has a poster of marvin gay with these words, which i find explains others
"people choose to judge us, simply because were having fun"
thank you

Ever heard of the bad-penny syndrome? The trouble with banning people is that they keep coming back. Whether or not you believe in the Second Coming, some members here certainly do, and not content with that, the third, fourth and fifth comings too. The AB ed has to tread a fine line between 'banning' which means the whole thing will resurface under a new name, or tolerance. Other ABers have to play a part too by reporting the worst ones or by refraining from participating in threads that are obviously inappropriate.
I frequently see posts by so called 'New Members' who are not as naive as they try to seem and have obviously resurrected themselves. Occasionally they have reformed, but more often they resort to the same modus operandi.
Part of the problem with reporting offensive posts, is that those members most likely to report inappropriate material rarely open the type of threads where they occur. Hopefully the general public won't either.
Finally, can I draw an analogy with a scientific term used in the purification of water - flocculation - where the crud comes together in fluffy masses, sinks to the bottom and is removed.
