I want to remove my name form the deeds of our jointly owned home so as to ensure that the house is not at risk from any future debt problems I may have. Is this posible.

Yes. Simply have the house transferred fully into your other half's name. A solicitor will be able to explain the process, and it shouldn't cost you much.

Bear in mind that you are changing the ownership of the property in reality as well as on paper - your co-owner could sell the house and decamp without you having any recourse. You are making a gift of your share of the property, not just doing some paperwork.

Also there could be repercussions if your debt problems are current and real rather than future and hypothetical.

also dont forget that if you are named as owner and have a mortgage you will have to change that as well and bear in mind that the mortgage company may not allow you to do this if your other half doesnt earn enough to pay each month

also dont use a solicitor use a conveyancer, they do the same but charge a one off much cheaper fee
