Putting tape cassettes onto computer

I have alot of tapes I want to put on my I pod. Is it possible to link a cassette player to my computer to put them on the hard drive? then transfer them onto an i pod? If so what kit would I need?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Yes - it's fairly easy! All you need is a lead from your cassette player into your soundcard's "line in" socket (usually the standard 3.5mm connector).
Then you can use free software such as Audacity to record and/or edit the sound:

Then save to mp3 and import into ITunes.
That should at least get you started!
