Tax
2 Answers
My daughter is in full time education (studying A-levels) and is working Saturdays only in a store. For the past four months (which is how long she's been there) she has been paying tax. I've contacted the tax office on her behalf who tell me that her employers must complete a P46 and she'll get the tax back (currently over 200). However, her employers are seriously dragging their heels over this and she's now got to a point where she feels she doesn't want to mention it any more - as they'll think she's only motivated by money. Is there any way around this? Thanks.

Or you can print a P46 from the I Rev website and ask the employer to complete it. probably the best way forward.
You don't say how many employees the store has.Have you considered that the store isn't handing the deductions over and has Revenue arrears?

Thanks Harley. I think the store has a total of about 15 employees but it's a well-known chain - just a small outlet in the town where we live, so I should imagine that, generally, their accounts are up-to-date. I think it's a just a case of them not having got around to it yet. I didn't know I could print off a P46, so I will go down that route. Many thanks.
