My mother used to recite a short poem about missing someone after they died. My family now wish to se this on her gravestone (sorry to be macabre). Trouble is no-one can remeber it.
It contained a line about an empty chair and not being there.
any help greatly appreciated

This one ?

As we walk past you empty chair,
We realise your no longer there,
No hand to hold, no lips to kiss,
This is what we truly miss,
We love you dearly but its true,
God takes the best and he chose you
If you do have it engraved in sotne, be sure to put "YOU'RE no longer there"..... hope you can find the right comforting words.

Could it be this:

"If you have a mother
Cherish her with care,
For you never know her worth
Until you see her empty chair"

Sorry but I don't know who it's by and I don't know if there are any other verses but it's a poem my mum also used to say to me!!

Hope it helps!
