what order

Could anyone give me the order as in chicken egg syndrome for removal of my too expensive norton anti virus then download AVG free with zone alarm free plus any recomended spyware adaware etc as I dont want to have any conflicts with old and new, thanks for any info

I would remove Norton whilst not connected to the internet.

Assuming you are using windows XP, you can turn on the Windows XP firewall before reconnecting.

Then you can safely download AVG and ZoneAlarm.

Disconnect from the internet and then run the programs in the order that they're listed above. (The Norton Removal Tool might require several restarts of your computer. The other programs might require you to briefly re-connect to the internet to complete the configuration).

I've included the AVG anti-spyware program in that list but you might wish to substitute Adaware SE Personal:

Thanks a million Ethel and Chris for your post had a spare moment today before I lost norton so just completed removal and installed AVG anti virus with norton hanging for grim death only one problem zone alarm firewall would not respond I could'nt seem to get beond there home page? so as to supliment with Windows XP will it be ok or had I better try another supliment thanks again and a happy new year
