Astra insp indicator
HI all
I had the service/insp display itself a week before christmas it showed 1000 miles, so i looked at the section in the handbook about it - it said ok to 500 or 300 miles minimum before booking a service.
I was of the understanding that my mk5 model a 1.6 ecotec/petrol has a 2 year service interval or 20k.
my car is 19/20 months old 13.700 when this first appeared on the clock,
i believe the computer works out the driving style & adjusts the service period -but thats a bit misleading
by a long way.
anyhow the mileage i have coved in this time is less than
200 miles & the display now says 0miles, so what happened to the other 800 miles????????????
has anyone else had this on a Vauxhall.
i did have the oil changed at 10k

Every time the INSP indicator lights up I just reset it by geting in the car and holding the trip recorder button in and then switch on the igniton and keep holding the button in for another 10 secsonds and it will reset it.
I don't care what vauxhall says the service interval shold be - there's no way I'm going to keep the same oil in for 20k.

Hi woodchopper.
I agree its a pain. there's no way I'm going to keep the same oil in for 20k.
but when selling it on everyone looks for a full service history, they think there dodgy without it dont they.
My Motorcycle servicing book recommends changing oil every 6months, i dont do 1k in that time, especially winter.
happy new year.
