Cryptic. A satirical press ridiculed form in church tower. (6 9). I've just started and need some help, The only letter I have is the first one which is B.
Crofter. I got the letter B from my 5 across which was:
A lamb's cooked in aromatic resin. (6)
Sambal (anagram of A Lamb's).
Certainly your Spiral Staircase is an anagram of A Satirical Press, but what about the B?
Will check later as am off to a BBQ. Yes, indeed, a BBQ on January 1 in Ontario. This year it's true. I'll check late tonight (EST) or early tomorrow.
Thanks for help.
I was going to come back with the same word BALSAM: which is given as "a liquid resin". SAMBAL refers to ay of various foods served with curries. However, the FOURTH letter of the word (above) starts off the (6,9) solution, so BALSAM is compatible with SPIRAL STAIRCASE.
I believe that coincidents do happen, but not with 15- lettered anagrams.
Thank you both very much. I had Sambal in my head and being stubborn that's where it stayed and, it was/is also an anagram of 'a lambs'. But of course Kayakamina is correct with Balsam and that makes Crofter's Spiral Staircase fit beautifully.
Yes, the BBQ was great but unbelievable. Steak and shrimp on the BBQ on New Year's Day in Ontario while, meantime, they are having snow in Tasmania.
Santa brought new roof racks for the car, but what are we to put on them? There's just no snow.
Once again - thanks.
