Does anyone know what the problem might be. I have a gateway pc running windows Me. When I boot up the pc it will load windows and then reboot itself, only to go through the whole process over and over.

You must have a serious software or hardware problem which is causing this to happen and should be sorted by booting the PC in safe mode to investigate.
Thank you. Now I have that problem fixed. I had the pc up and running last nihgt. Now when I turn it on it goes through the screen telling me I can hit F1 or tab for system settings, then instead of going on to load windows, it goes to a black screen, asking for a password. I have no idea what it wants, because I have never set a password on this pc, except for aol. Any ideas here?
Most motherboards require the F8 or Del. key to be pressed to enter the BIOS to alter the settings. However I`m assuming that yours is asking you to press Tab or F1 to achieve this. It then looks as though the maker of the PC has set a Supervisor password in the BIOS to prevent anyone tampering with them which is no good to the owner if something goes amiss you have the option of going back to the supplier or trying to get into the BIOS yourself by bypassing the password. One possible method is to remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard for 10 seconds. It may work but if not other tips on how to bypass it can be found on this site; http://labmice.techtarget.com/articles/BIOS_hack.htm
