If a machine has V rated tyres specified, would it pass the MOT test with H rated tyres?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.No tyre shop will fit "H" rated tyres to a bike that is specified with "V" rated tyres. If "H" rated tyres were fitted it will invalidate the insurance cover. It is nothing to do with speed limits; the safe speed on all tyres comes down a lot when the bike is fully loaded. Don't even think about it.

What will happen if you try to run a tyre past its speed rating is that it will come apart at the seams - literally -due to centrifugal force.
