Many thanks for your help with the Lite-on DVD recorder query but can you tell me if it is possible to copy items from the hard drive onto extended play discs. I can copy items of two hours and less quite easily but would like to put longer films or series episodes onto say 4 hour discs but don't know how to do this. Do I have to play the item concerned through the TV and copy it that way or is there a way to do it without watching it for the full 4 hours. Hope you understand what I mean. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,
I haven't done this but I am referring to the handbook.
It appears that if you recorded on to HDD in EP mode, that is the mode which will be transferred to your DVD. There doesn't appear to be a way to copy from SP to EP.
Press the [HDD/DVD] button and select HDD.
Press the [Browser] button to browse the files.
Press the arrow buttons to move the highlighted cursor to the file to be copied and press [COPY]. The file is then copied to the DVD disc.

hugh - you are a star. thank you very much. i never even thought of putting things on the hard drive in extended play in the first instance but i will give it a try and let you know if i am successful. i've obviously not read the booklet properly and couldn't see the wood for the trees. i should have asked an eight year old for advice as they are more clued up with technology then i am. once again ta very much. topkapi.
