London Show short notice availability

I hear there are booths where you can queue to get last minute tickets to shows showing that day. Does anybody know where these are in London? My brother is going up to London on Thursday to Friday and thought he'd try and get a ticket to a show for 3 people.

theatre monkey is an excellent site Lost Star - have used it in the past before booking tickets to check the seating plans and where the best seats are. Never thought of that. Thanks!
