When I originally ripped my CD collection into Media Player (using, I think, something like version 8) the file structure it created was My Music / CD Title / Individual mp3 files. I am now using Media Player 11 and ripping CDs creates a structure of My Music / Artist Name / CD Title / Individual mp3 files. Does anyone know how to change the default file structure setting to my original one so that I can be consistent?

Thanks Ethel but that doesn't solve the problem, I'm afraid. I'm not concerned with the View. What I'm trying to sort out is the folder hierarchy and get rid of the 'interim' folder now being created for 'Artist Name'.
