I have a Falcon range cooker, around four years old. The front gas burner has started to give off a smell, a bit like paraffin is the only way I can describe it, and the flames of the burner are burning higher, I have to turn it down. What could this smell be, is it dangerous?
The air to gas ratio is faulty
Do not play with it, it can be giving off toxic fumes-that kill
Get a registered Corgi Gas engineer -- that is if you are in UK
There could be some spilt food got trapped under the burner and is partially blocking the burner and giving off the smell. Try to take off the burner and give it a good old cleaning. Unfortunatley CO (carbon monoxide ) the killer we have all heard about is odourless so it does not smell at all !!!. If you cannot see anything wrong with it then follow the advice of megnom who posted earlier.
