Since Richard Green was taught by Kyffin Williams , he obviously has insider knowledge about little known facts!
The name Richard Hamilton comes up as someone who was at the Slade in the 1940s.. will keep trying and get back if sucessful.
Can you help with Question D, though ??- (I DO have several names in connection with Kyffin Williams question !)
I know the painting is called Young Girl leaning on a Window Sill...that is in Dulwich Art Gallery, it Might portray Hendriecke Stoffels, Rembrandt's eventual 2nd Wife, however I cannot fathom the 'unusual purpose' the artist put the painting...unless it was to block out a draughty window !
Not cracked this one yet , I'm afraid. I had presumed that , as the girl is very young, she was Hendrickje's daughter Cordelia born in 1654.
I was thinking along the same lines for the possible use, especially as the canvas was originally rectangular and has had the top rounded off. No real evidence though.
Some time in the Reference Library called for .
Good luck!

Back to the drawing board!
Sorry ,had transposed the two dates.
Painting is dated 1645 ; Cornelia born 1654, so it can't be her.
The picture is currently not in the Dulwich, that's why the question is presumably there.
Thanks Progyn .. googled a wet Saturday afternoon away on various websites.
As it is Rembrandt's 400th anniversary the Rijksmuseum seemed a good place to start.
But the painting may well be on tour !
