do portable dvd's with freeview in them work abroad

I have seen a portable dvd and tv player for sale at Maplins electronics. It has digital channels in it ( not sure how that works)

Could anyone tell me whether this would work in tenerife as would buy it in order to watch digital channels over there?

You'll have to find out if they have terrestial digital channels.
Other european countries must have because the menu for both my digital boxes (one for telly, one in PC) has foreign language options.
