Does anybody know what Moots means?
prev past tense of verb 'to treat'....is it treated or treat (pronounced 'tret')

A moot was Anglo-Saxon for a meeting, and came to mean the place where the meeting was to be. You occasionally hear these days of some subject 'being mooted' meaning put forward for discussion, so I suppose there's a sort of verb in there somewhere - 'I moot', he moots' etc., but I can't see it catching on!

Nowadays, a moot is a mock trial conducted by law students to gain expertise at presenting a case and cross-examining witnesses.
